Allentown, PA – August 18, 2009 – Independence IT, a leading provider of application hosting and infrastructure management solutions for small and mid-sized businesses, today announced the appointment of Charles (Chip) Buck to chief operating officer (COO). Additionally, the firm has promoted Michael Kincaid to operations manager and Jason Shivok to technical manager.

His breadth of technical experience along with his business acumen is the perfect mix to help better understand and meet our clients’ challenges and run our operations more efficiently.”
Mr. Buck has more than 25 years of experience in management and with PC-based business applications and formerly held the position of chief technology officer for Independence IT. As one of the co-founders of the company, he is the original architect of the firm’s service model and technology platform.
Mr. Buck gained his management experience as the owner –operator of 13 Domino’s Pizza franchise locations. He was one of the first franchisees to configure, implement and install fully automated telephone, order entry and accounting systems for his franchise locations. His visionary use of computers, and as his public speaking and negotiations skills, led to his selection by his 1,300 peer franchisees as chairman of the International Franchise Advisory Council. In this capacity, Mr. Buck worked closely with Domino’s Pizza Inc., key industry partners and the Domino’s Pizza franchisee community to help bring the use of computers to the Domino’s Pizza Franchise Network.
After selling his Domino’s franchises, Mr. Buck provided computer and technology services to Muhlenberg College and small and midsized businesses in Eastern Pennsylvania, and then joined Independence IT in 1999. Mr. Buck earned his B.S. in computer science from Muhlenberg College and his M.S. in information assurance from Norwich University. He is also a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
